Château Lalande 2023 is a Saint-Julien AOP from a rare, non-classified 15.5-hectare estate situated between Châteaux Talbot, Lagrange, and Ducru-Beaucaillou along the Gironde estuary, with all vines planted in one unbroken parcel of Garonne gravel soil ...the same land of classified growth provenance originally acquired from Château Lagrange in 1964 by the Meffre family, who continue to own and manage the estate today. The blend is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon from 25-year-old vines, crafted under the guidance of consulting winemaker Christophe Ollivier with a 48-hour cold pre-fermentation maceration, three weeks of total maceration, malolactic fermentation, and 12 months of aging in French oak barrels (25% new).
