From 0.79 hectares of clay and limestone-rich soils just south of the village, the Frémiers is widely considered a classic of the domaine, and the 2022 is a particularly exuberant expression. Bright blackberry and cassis leap from the glass, framed by pepper, bay leaf, and the fine spice that is a hallmark of this site. The texture is velvety and dense, with ripe, supple tannins and impressive length. Fermented as whole clusters with very little new oak, this is a wine of real elegance and longevity. Give it three to five years and it will reward patience for two decades to come.
