On 1st December 1973, Benito and Giannola Nonino created the single varietal Grappa, Monovitigno Nonino Picolit, revolutionizing the method of producing, introducing and packaging Grappa in Italy. Today their four daughters continue to produce some of the most sought-after and recognized spirits in the world, garnering fanfare from industry professionals and connoisseurs alike.
We are excited to have received an extremely small lot of one of their most prized Grappa - the Monovitigno Picolit Gran Riserva 10 Year Old.
Nonino's Grappa Picolit Gran Riserva matures sealed and supervised by the Italian customs and monopoly authority for 10 years in former Sauternes barriques housed within the distillery's maturation cellars.
This is a rare, elegant and precious Grappa. The wood of the barrels previously filled with Sauternes forms a harmonious whole with the notes of the Picolit grape, which smell of honey, spices, chocolate and candied fruits. There is no added colouring or flavour.
The unique ball bottle is made of crystal glass, with 24-carat gold screen printing. The closure is made of cork and metal with 24-carat gold plating.
Only 1,139 bottles were produced.
