Oremus Winery, founded by Vega Sicilia in 1993, is a prestigious estate in Hungary's Tokaj region, renowned for blending tradition with modern techniques to craft exceptional Tokaji wines. Furmint may not be an everyday varietal, but it’s one you shouldn't miss. Predominantly grown in Tokaj, Furmint is famous for sweet Tokaji Aszu, yet it also excels as a vibrant, dry white wine with bright acidity, minerality, and gripping texture reminiscent of Loire Valley whites. 

This wine's name comes from the old way of referring to the vineyard from where it comes. Mandolás is one of the Oremus vineyards and it is only planted with Furmint, the noblest grape of the region. The wine is delicately and gently pressed, and its alcoholic fermentation occurs in new wood barrels over an 8-12 day period. The masterful Vega Sicilia team then age the wine in 136-liter small barrels, which are typical of the region, and give the whites a unique texture. The result is a truly impressive white.
