Silver Oak began over a handshake between two friends with a bold vision. Their focus is on one varietal, Cabernet Sauvignon, aged exclusively in American oak and worthy of cellaring for decades to come. Starting in a dairy barn in 1972, Silver Oak has grown to international fame for their Napa Valley and Alexander Valley Cabernets. In 2015, Silver Oak became the first North American winery to own and operate their own American oak cooperage, giving them full control of their barrelmaking needs. Today they farm more than 400 acres with a leading-edge approach to viticulture. All of their estate vineyards are certified under California's Sustainable Winegrowing program.
