The relatively new and highly regarded Quadrus winery was founded by Torontonian brothers Tony and Mario Amaro (Opus Restaurant) in 2005. Quadrus vineyard sits on a terraced hillside consisting of schist, set above the Douro river at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level. The area, although known best for producing Port, has begun to create spectacular reds and whites that will stand the test of time.
