Heymann-Löwenstein
Founded in 1980 by Reinhard Löwenstein, this distinctive Mosel estate began with a handful of carefully selected vineyards on the steep slate slopes of Winningen. Over the years, the domaine has grown to approximately 15 hectares, encompassing celebrated sites including Röttgen, Uhlen, Kirchberg, Stolzenberg and Von Blauem. Set within a dramatic landscape of precipitous hillsides and varied soils, the vineyards produce Riesling with remarkable character, depth and individuality. Reinhard takes a meticulous yet expressive approach to winemaking, carefully selecting the fruit and allowing the wines to develop naturally, with an emphasis on texture, complexity and a strong sense of place. Rather than following the lighter, more traditional style often associated with the Mosel, his wines are typically richer and more structured, balancing concentrated fruit with vibrant freshness and energy. Bold, distinctive and unmistakably individual, the wines reflect both the rugged beauty of their surroundings and the personality of the visionary winemaker behind them.
