Housed in a former dairy barn, Hinterland has been making celebrated sparkling wines in Prince Edward County, Ontario since 2007. Leaving their former careers of restaurants and Big Pharma behind, winemakers Jonas Newman and Vicki Samaras trained at 13th Street Winery in Niagara for 4 years before planting vines in Prince Edward County in 2003. Partners in life and in business, they made the decision to focus exclusively on sparkling wine in 2008 and have been producing some of the most sought after wines in Canada ever since. From Ancestral Method, to Charmat, to Traditional Method, Hinterland celebrates the full spectrum of sparkling winemaking.
