Barons de Rothschild Champagne
Celebrated throughout the world as leaders in banking and owners of the most storied wine estates in the world, the three branches of the Rothschild family joined forces in 2005 to create an eponymous Champagne. Baron Benjamin, a Geneva banker who owns Château Clarke, Baron Eric, who ownes Château Lafite and Baronesse Philippine, who owns Chateau Mouton - wanted great Champagne in their heavy portfolio of wines and spotted the perfect place for production in the Cave Vertus in Reims. Uncompromisingly dedicated to quality, they began sourcing fruit from the best terroirs in the appellation. The now boutique Champagne business produces around 500,000 bottles each year under the watchful eye of Sereys de Rothschild and CEO Frederic Mairesse.
