La Chapelle Hermitage

France, Rhone Valley

2006 marks a very important year for the Domaine as this is the first vintage in which the Frey Family owned the Domaine. The 'La Chapelle' is made with 100% Syrah from various top sites in Hermitage and aged in cellar for 15 to 18 months in French Oak Barrels that are renewed 20% each year. The final blend is done once aging is complete.

Josh Raynolds - Vinous

Glass-staining ruby. Powerful scents of red and dark berry preserves, smoked meat, violet and minerals offer impressive clarity and expand in the glass. Velvety in texture, with deep, liqueur-like red berry flavors, gentle tannins and a strong undercurrent of lively minerals. The smoky note repeats strongly on the lush, seductively sweet finish. Extremely appealing even now, but this really deserves a chance to sleep for at least another decade. Score - 93.
