Nostre Pais Rouge

Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre & Cinsault / 2015
94 RP
This cuvée represents our search for elegance, purity andmineral/terroir expression. We privilege the complexity of our terroir, grape ripeness is not pushed to the outer limits, sorting is drastic, oak aging is kept to a minimum, and blending includes all 5 varietals of our appellation. The 2015 vintage started off with beautiful weather, and during the harvest we had to dodge our share of storms. The warm August nights gave berries of wonderful phenological ripeness, but a tad lacking in color. The wines are ample, with ripe fruit and a hedonistic balance

Coming from the southern, cooler end of the appellation, mostly from the estate’s Beck Coming from the southern, cooler end of the appellation, mostly from the estate’s Beck Vineyard, the 2015 Nostre Païs Costières de Nîmes is always more perfumed and elegant than the Lou Coucardié cuvee. It offers fabulous notes of ripe black raspberries, toasted spice, crushed flowers and licorice. A blend of 45% Grenache, 25% Syrah and the rest Carignan, Mourvèdre and Cinsault, this Chateauneuf du Pape look alike offers a sexy, full-bodied profile and is already hard to resist.
