Milton and Barbera Eisele purchased the estate in 1969 and in their 20 plus years of ownership established Eisele Vineyard as one of the finest sources for Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in the Napa Valley. Some of California's most age worthy and intensely flavored Cabernet Sauvignon have been made from grapes grown at the Eisele Vineyard. Located on the alluvial fan near the northern end of Napa Valley, this site is protected by the Palisades Mountains to the north and cooled by the westerly breezes from the Chalk Hill Gap. This 38 acre site is planted on well drained cobbly soils that produce a low yielding crop of exceptionally concentrated fruit. At Eisele Vineyard, winemaking takes a back seat to expressive terroir and the fruit is essential. They believe that the utmost attention to detail at every step of the winemaking process allows the true notes of the grape and land to shine through. The winemaking is precise and stripped of pretension, with an approach to be purposeful, uncompromising, natural and honest. They respect what each vintage shows, and the authenticity of the story that each growing season tells.
