What currency are my charges?

What’s included in the price?

Prices listed represent the LCBO retail price inclusive of agency fee, bottle deposit and less HST.

Are prices subject to change?

Products on that are in-transit are subject to final price adjustment or change once the product lands in Ontario. The online featured price could be subject to change.

How do I order?

You can order through our website or by emailing or calling us direct.

Do I have to open an account?

If you haven’t already created an account with, your first order does it automatically. Your account holds your purchase history and allows you to check out past and current orders. Your purchase history also allows us to give you a heads up when, say, something rather yummy and up your street comes in.

Who can order?

Anyone can order – but by law you do have to be at least 19 years of age. You also need to have two pieces of ID in order to receive your order in person. ]

Is the site user-friendly?

Shopping for wine on is delightfully easy. Simply browse our wines and when you see one, or some, you fancy, simply add them to the shopping cart. When you’re done adding items to your cart, review what you’ve ordered, and then go to checkout. At checkout, you’ll be asked to provide name, address, billing and delivery details. Double check your order in case you forgot something, and then submit. We’ll acknowledge receipt by sending you a confirmation note complete with a list of your purchases, cost breakdown, payment and delivery info.

What about a refund?

All and any wines can be returned within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

What payment options are available? accepts online mobile payments using Payfirma. That means you have more ways to pay including VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay and others.

Can I get wine delivered to my ski lodge outside Banff?

Nice one. Alas, due to provincial restrictions we are only able to ship wines to Ontario addresses.

How fast will my delivery arrive? And how? ships by private delivery trucks or, in some cases by Canada Post, Fedex or any bonded approved LCBO delivery agent. Other than private or special custom order wines, all Halpern products are shipped anywhere in Ontario within 5 business days. If you are ordering multiple items, your order may require separate deliveries.

Why do I need to show I.D.?

The LCBO and any outlet selling wine or beer requires it and so do we. When you take delivery of your order, please have at least two pieces of government issued ID with your age on it

Do I have to be in to accept delivery?

All deliveries need to be signed for. If you aren’t around to receive your order, you’ll be left a notification on where to pick it up – usually the depot nearest to you. Remember, if you forget about it and don’t claim it, it will be returned to us and there will be a second delivery charge.

If your shipment is by private courier we will contact you regarding best time for delivery. If you aren’t around at the agreed time, a note will be left on how to get it rescheduled. Return deliveries will result in an extra charge.

When can I expect my order to arrive?

Once your order is placed and confirmed, you can check its status by logging into and tracking its process. No order should take longer than 5 days to arrive.

Time to replenish?

Once your create your account with Halpern you can pop by anytime. We’re always open for online orders and since we have all your details and history securely on file, you can browse or buy at your leisure.

How do I cancel my order?

Cancelling your order once it’s in process (or transit) can be a bit tricky as it usually leaves our domain faster than you can say “cin cin”. However we do accept returns provided you ship it back to us at your own expense. In the event that cancellation is required, write to and we’ll see what we can do.

What if my order is damaged en route?

We pack our wines to withstand their journey, and while damage is rare, it can happen. Halpern Wine understands this and we will replace or refund your order as quickly as possible. If your order arrives damaged, you have two options:

  • Take the delivery. If you’ve ordered a case and the majority of bottles are in one piece, we will either send out replacements or apply a refund to cover the damaged ones. Just let us know ASAP.

  • Not accept the delivery. The package will be returned to and we will replace or refund your order.

Do I have to be a member to purchase?

Gosh no! But there are definite perks that come with joining our membership program. For more details visit our membership page.

How secure is

We wouldn’t ask you to share your personal and billing details if we knew we couldn’t secure them tighter than Fort Knox. Our technology runs off the VINI SAAS based software tool which stays on top of all new developments in security upgrades in the mobile transaction industry. All confidential and sensitive info is transferred and stored in encrypted form of the highest level. And, of course, it helps if your password is nicely obtuse: caps, lower case, numbers…If you forget it, we’ll get you started with a new one.
