Collio Mongris Riserva Pinot Grigio

Italy, Friuli-Venezia Giulia

The name Mongris comes from the contraction of “Mono-variety Gris,” referring to Pinot Grigio aka Pinot Gris. After harvesting the grapes are separated from the stalk. The juice and the pulp undergo a cold maceration, then a slight pressing which allows peel separation.
30% of the must is fermented in 5hl oak barrels, the remaining in steel tanks. This Riserva version of the Mongris Pinot Grigio provides a different expression of that grape variety due to partial barrel fermentation and 2 years of lees aging.

The taste is characterized by an elegant fruity, it becomes full-bodied structured and sapid. In the final it is very persistent, salinity stands out.

Bright straw-green. Very clean, serious aromas and flavors of nectarine, apple and pear have a nice mineral dusting and plenty of floral clarity and cut on the long juicy and vibrant close. Experience has shown, and this vintage it's no different, that Marco Felluga's Mongris is always a great Pinot Grigio. Score - 92.
