Fattoria di Fiorano

Located within the confines of Rome, Fattoria di Fiorano was inherited by Alberico Boncompagni Ludovisi in 1946. He decided to plant four grapes: Merlot, Cabernet, Semillon and Malvasia, and to cultivate them according to the principles of modern organic agriculture. He became a pioneer of organic winemaking at a time when more and more estates were turning to chemical means and ignoring traditional methods. The story of Fiorano became legend - one of a man who sold few bottles, was stubborn, and protected the relationship he had with his grapes so much that he uprooted most of his vines when he retired. From the precious remnants of their grandfather's vineyard, the Antinori daughters decided to revive the Fattoria and continue to uphold the values of the family. They are breathing new life into this incredible etate.
